In early 2021, the TRUSTED origins in candle making started in the Stone Mountain Garage of our Founder Monique C Henry.
Monique who studied Psychology in university began testing fragrances and scent combinations in her off time from school during the summer to express herself through a form of art that was new for her. Focusing on making something that her family could use, a candle that also had edge and sophistication, while still being true to a ethically sourced and safe candle was a creation she deeply wanted to bring to life.
The smell Josephine was the original scent first created to embody the rhythm and intimacy of the life of Josephine Baker.
The combination of Sweet Vanilla and Deep Mahogany, wrapping masculine with feminine in an androgynous way was the blueprint to TRUSTED’s foundation. At Trusted we want to see people feeling safe to be transparent and real in the company of our products. To design creative compliments to enhance the rawness of life and highlight the moments of the world through art.
